The Decatur water system is in desperate need of repair and rehabbing, according to Mayor Ken Meyer. “The “old” water treatment plant, located next to the Riverside Center is more than 70 years old, and the “new” water treatment plant, located on the Winchester Road on the south side of town, is more than 50 years old. In addition, the pipe that carries water from the Berne area to Decatur needs to be re-lined.”
