First payment on jail coming due

The first of many payments on the new jail is due on July 15. Auditor Mary Berry informed the Adams County Commissioners Tuesday morning that the $663,000 payment includes $290,843.13 in interest, $370,000 toward the principal, and a maintenance fee of $2,156.87. The payment is to be made to Main Source Bank in Portland.
