The completion of the new Adams County Jail is one of the leading stories during the year, 2017. The new jail building has 57,000 square feet as compared to 15,000 at the old facility. It can hold up to 189 inmates, plus 24 inmates on work release. The capacity of the old jail was supposed to be 69 inmates.
