Many people in the area don’t realize that two nationally known early car inventors, each credited for discovering major steps in automobile creativity, lived close to Berne just prior to the turn of the 20th century. Both were driving their own invented cars two years before Henry Ford was credited with the big discovery that immediately received national recognition.
