Alan Mosser
Alan “Pete” Douglas Mosser, 57, of Geneva, died unexpectedly at 6:14 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his residence. He was born Saturday, July 9, 1960 in Decatur to Florence (Nelson) and Jim Mosser.
He was a 1978 graduate of South Adams High School. He had a great passion for costume making and shared his passion for costumes and design at the University of Vermont, where he taught students for 24 years. At the University of Vermont, he was heavily involved in the theatre department and producing several costumes for several productions at the Royall Tyler Theatre. He loved to see his visions come to life in the hundreds of costumes he made. He loved sewing, going for walks and playing various card games. He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle heart, which he always used to help people. His motto in life was, “I might get old, but I’ll never grow up.”
He is survived by his mother of Geneva; four sisters, Shirley (Dave) Hutcheson of Swayzee; Pam (Mike) Smith of Millersburg; Vickie (Ben) Hough of Geneva; and Cindy (Nou) Phouleuanghong of Warsaw; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services are at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21 at the High Street United Methodist Church, 435 High St., Geneva with a memorial service two hours prior. Pastor Michele Isch will officiate.
