Amy L. Burley
Amy Lucile Burley, 92, of North Manchester and formerly of Winona Lake, went home to be with the Lord at 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester. She was born on January 24, 1925 in Pandora, Ohio to Edward Joel and Rhoda Emma (Neuenschwander) Leightner. She was married on July 30, 1950 at Pandora Missionary Church in Pandora, Ohio to Robert Thomas Burley.
She was a 1943 graduate of Pandora High School in Pandora, Ohio. She then attended Fort Wayne Bible College in Fort Wayne. She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 59 years, where she worked for 30 years at the Light & Life Bookshop and Herald Book Store both in Winona Lake. She was a member of Winona Lake Free Methodist Church and worked in children’s ministries for over 50 years. She was loved my many and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her husband of North Manchester; daughter, Carol Simpson of Indianapolis; son, Thomas (Jennifer) Burley of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Jena (Chris) Fahlbush; and Marco Simpson, both of Indianapolis; and Jillian Burley of Bloomington; and brother, Paul Leightner of Brevard, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and three sisters.
Visitation will be three hours prior to the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Friday, August 11 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Officiating will be Pastor Henry Church and Pastor Doug Balzar. A graveside service and burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
