Bette J. Bailey
Bette J. Bailey, 98, of Berne passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Swiss Village in Berne, where she was a resident. She was born on January 6, 1920 in Adams County to Frank and M. Elva (Tricker) Bauserman. She was married on April 6, 1939 to Blaine Bailey.
She was a member of the Bethel Brethren Church, where she was a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and choir member. She worked at Dunbar Furniture, the Overall Factory, and later at CTS Corp for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Gerry (Judy) Bailey of Fort Wayne; and Dane (Christina) Bailey of Huntington; sister, Peggy (Jack) Costello of Spanish Fort, Alabama; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, Brice, Doyle, Wayne, Carl, and Gayle Bauserman; granddaughter, Michelle Bailey; and great-grandson, Matthew Collier.
Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, January 31 at Bethel Brethren Church in Berne. Officiating was Pastor Joe Nass. Burial was at MRE Cemetery.
