Betty J. Habegger

Betty J. Habegger, 91, of Berne passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Swiss Village in Berne, where she was a resident. She was born on November 17, 1925 in Adams County to Raymond and Mildred (Lantz) Moser. She was married on April 22, 1945 to Clifton Habegger.

During her early life, she lived in Adams County. After she got married, they lived in Fort Wayne for 26 years and later retired in Berne. While in the Berne area, she attended the Evangelical Mennonite Church and during retirement years the First Mennonite Church. She loved music and was a church organist. She also enjoyed reading and joined an RV traveling group with her husband. They were also members of Sowers International, a volunteer service organization. She was employed at Berco Inc. and in the office of Mutual Security Life in Fort Wayne until retirement.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Doug (Joy) Habegger of Morton, Illinois; and Mark (Nancy) Habegger of Evans, Colorado; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Grace Habegger.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, September 30 at Berne Evangelical Church. Officiating will be Pastor Doug Habegger and Pastor Brad Habegger. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Swiss Village Samaritan Endowment.
