Clariece J. Humphrey | The Berne Witness

Clariece J. Humphrey

Clariece Joanne Humphrey, 84, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at home in her favorite chair with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was born on April 11, 1933 in Linn Grove to Claude and Twylo Monce.

She was the second of five siblings. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Hartford High School in 1951. She always held dear her friendships from her class and small town. She went to study art in Sarasota, Florida. After she returned to Indiana, she met and married August Buscher and settled in Fort Wayne. There they raised two children.

Later, she moved to Bradenton-Sarasota, Florida to be near her parents. There she met and married Keith Humphrey. They shared 25 happy years together. In 2013, she moved to Rio Vista, California to be near her daughter. She continued to enjoy creating her artwork and spent many hours reading and spoiling her dog, Lady. Her advice to her daughter was to “be happy for the times we had together, not everyone is blessed with the good times we shared”.

She is survived by her daughter, Karin Buscher and Rory Boyle (husband); four grandchildren, Jessica Weber; Mathew Buscher; and Brenna and Erin Boyle; sister, Janet Snyder; brother, Eric Monce; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; her second husband; son, William Buscher; brother, Claude Monce; and sister, Maxine Quiros.
