Connie J. Sprunger

Connie J. Sprunger, 75, of Berne passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on November 21, 1941 in Wells County to Paul and Blythe (Schocke) Harshman. She was married on March 17, 1969 to O. Duane Sprunger.

She attended the West Missionary Church and The Bridge. She was office manager at Harris Material Exchange for 22 years in Berne, was co-owner of Poplar Drive-In, and was employed at Continental Airlines and CTS Corp. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her flowers, rooting for the IU Hoosiers, Nascar, and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Matt) Teeter of Berne; three sons, Doug (Cheryl) Harris of Monroe; and Randy (Laura) Harris; and Tom Sprunger, both of Berne; two brothers, Richard (Sue) Harshman of Petroleum; and Robert “Bob” (Jane) Harshman of Indianapolis; three sisters, Rebecca (Jim) Caldwell of Noblesville; Betty Torbert of Viola, Delaware; and Paula (Bob) Pickett of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law, Suzie Roudebush of Berne; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2011; and three sisters, Nancy Oakey; Jill Harshman; and Carol Rodriquez.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Monday, October 2 at West Missionary Church in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Pickett. Burial will be at Stahl Cemetery in Petroleum.

Memorials may be made to West Missionary Church or Adams County Community Foundation-Cancer Fund.
