Coy E. Ellis | The Berne Witness

Coy E. Ellis

Coy Edward Ellis, 82, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017. He was born on November 16, 1934 in Corinth, Arkansas to George and Laura (Huddleston) Ellis. He was married on June 27, 1953 at the Howard County Court House by Judge Alen Feamster to Shirley Neal.

He attended Murfreesboro High School. He and his wife lived on the Wallace Cattle Ranch in Highland, Arkansas for two years before moving to Indiana. He worked in Geneva at the Adams County Farm Bureau Co-Op for over 40 years. He was a devoted husband, father of four daughters, grandfather and great-grandfather. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, pets, and gardening. He encouraged and supported his family continually. He was always there to lend a hand, give you hug (with a big smack on the back!), or just to listen. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Laura (Ed) King; Kathy (Herb) Bergman; Deb (Gary) McCoy; and Lisa (Duane) Affolder; nine grandchildren, Derick (Lori) Bailey; Amber (Chad) Shepherd; Merhanda Bailey; Herb (Laura) Bergman, III; Emily Mosser; Coy Bergman; Josh (Chere) Affolder; Denise (Josh) Denton; and Tiffany (Tyler) Kunkle; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, twin Coyce Edwin; Leonard Seville; Dale Ellis; and James Dilbert, J.B; four sisters, Estelle Nolen; Ethel Davis; Marie Seals; and Virginia Tholl; son-in-law, Brad Mosser; granddaughter Chrissy Ann Affolder; and great-granddaughter, Emerson Rose Kunkle.

Visitation will be four hours prior to the 7:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, March 15 at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 100 W. Line Street, Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Michele Isch.

Memorials may be made to the Geneva Fire Department or charity of donor’s choice.
