Daniel R. Stahly

Daniel R. Stahly, 78, of Geneva passed away at 2:58 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. He was born on Saturday, June 11, 1938 in New Knoxville, Ohio to Wilbert and Irene (Striker) Stahly. He was married on Saturday, August 6, 1966 in Fort Wayne to Jan Oleson.

He was a graduate of Geneva High School with the Class of 1956. He worked several years until retiring for Don Myers Plumbing and Heating in Berne. He attended High Street Methodist Church in Geneva. He enjoyed riding his bike in the summer months around the Geneva area, mowing his lawn, and watching IU basketball. He especially enjoyed saving money and was very good at organizing and achieving his financial goals. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of Geneva; daughter, Renee (Tim) Jackson of Linn Grove; three sons, Nathan (Stacy) Rettig of Westminster, Maryland; Noel (Jennifer) Rettig of Sarasota, Florida; and Jay Stahly of Markle; sister, Sharon (Bob) Schisler of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandsons.

Visitation was from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12 and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Monday, February 13 at High Street United Methodist Church, 435 High St., Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Michele Isch. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
