Deloris M. Caffee
Deloris M. “Fat” Caffee, 97, of Geneva passed away at 2:36 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on Saturday, April 19, 1919 in Mercer County, Ohio to Charles A. and Nellie (McGough) Bransteter. She was married on Tuesday, September 21, 1937 in Chattanooga, Ohio to Eugene Caffee.
She was a lifetime resident of the Geneva community. She was a homemaker and helped with the family dairy operation. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles and watching IU basketball. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chattanooga, Ohio, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Kay (Philip) Baumgartner, Mansfield, Ohio; two sons, Robert L. (Sue) Caffee of Berne; and Dennis E. (Rebecca) Caffee of Geneva; sister, Betty Haviland of Geneva; brother, Lester Bransteter of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; seven sisters, Freda Bryie; Garni Bollenbacher; Creva Bollenbacher; Thelma Tester; Irma Miller; Wilma Geade; and Hazel Granger; four brothers, Charles Bransteter; Argyle Bransteter; Chester Bransteter; and Richard Bransteter; and grandson, Kerry Baumgartner.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, December 21 at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St., Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Karen Tamorria. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
