Donna Joan Parr | The Berne Witness

Donna Joan Parr

Donna Joan Parr, 78, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2016 after an extended illness. She was born on July 19, 1938 in Portland to Chester and Alta (Beaber) Williams. She was the wife of Larry Parr.

She was simply an extraordinary woman: strong-willed, smart, resilient, independent, funny, determined and loving. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and her friends. She derived the most pleasure from being with her family and friends and remaining active and engaged in their lives. She was a beacon of generosity, goodness, and love to all who knew her and this world will certainly be a little less bright without her sweet and vibrant spirit. She will be greatly missed by all that she touched as her influence and love has stretched generations.

She is survived by her son, Tim (Melinda-Foss) Parr of Geneva; three daughters, Kim (Randy) Davis of Churubusco; and Dawn (Randy) Patterson; and Valerie (Troy) Panning, both of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Janet K. Thomas; and Linda J. Hake; and brother, Chester Rex Williams.

Her family extends their most heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mark Delbello, M.D., Dr. David Zimmerman, M.D., and their staff, and all of the nurses at Parkview Regional Medical Center who provided compassionate and excellent care.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington Street, Geneva. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva.
