Edwin K. Vorhees

Edwin K. Vorhees, 92, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Health in Lakeland, Florida. He was born on Monday, August 17, 1925 in Geneva to Alva and Donna L. (Thompson) Vorhees. He was married on Saturday, September 7, 1946 in Maumee, Ohio to Lela J. Klar.

He served his country in the US Navy in WWII. He had worked at Franklin Electric in Bluffton and retired from there in 1987. He was a member of First Missionary Church in Berne.

He is survived by his wife of Lakeland, Florida; two sons, Ronald W. (ReaJean) Vorhees of Lakeland, Florida; and Dwight A. (Cheryl) Vorhees of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; two daughters, Betheny K. (Randy) Jones of Goshen; and Teresa L. Vorhees of Carmel; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dora Ann Long; brother, Lyle Vorhees; and great-granddaughter, Nature Ann.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, September 23 at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Dathen Foust. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.

Graveside military rites will be conducted by the US Navy and Geneva VFW Post # 6751.
