Elizabeth Colter
Elizabeth “Liz” Colter, 82, of Berne, formerly of Decatur, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. She was born on May 22, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Benito and Consuelo (Uries) Olalde.
She was a member of the Bridge Community Church. She worked at Decatur City Hall for 33 years and volunteered at the Adams Memorial Hospital Gift Shop and Swiss Village Gift Shop. She was famous to her family and friends for her chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by her son, Bradley “Brad” (Diane) Schrock of Berne; three brothers, Eddie, Danny and Davie; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Andrew Schrock; her second husband, James “Jim” Colter; two sons, Korben and Steve; brother, Benny; and sister, Dina.
Visitation will be three hours prior to the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, October 7 at the Bridge Community Church. Officiating will be Pastor Mo Hodge. Burial will be at Decatur Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Swiss Village in Berne.
