Elizabeth G. Schwartz

Elizabeth G. Schwartz, 84, of Berne passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur. She was born on December 28, 1932 in Adams County to Joseph E and Elizabeth (Girod) Eicher. She was married on November 9, 1954 to Henry M. Schwartz.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

She is survived by her husband of Berne; seven daughters, Elizabeth (Amos) Girod; and Anna (Elmer) Schwartz, both of Berne; Mary (David) Schwartz of Geneva; Frances (Reuben) Wickey; and Ruth (Simon) Schwartz, both of Monroe; Rachel (Marcus) Miller of Decatur; and Rebecca (David) Schwartz of Kansas; four sons, Ben (Emma) Schwartz of Monroe, Joe (Rosie) Schwartz of Salem; and Jake (Martha) Schwartz; and John (Anna) Schwartz, both of Berne; two brothers, Sam J. (Edith) Eicher; and Ben J. (Clara) Eicher, both of Berne; four sisters, Margaret (Joe D.J.) Schwartz of Berne; Emma (Raymond) Schwartz of Geneva; and Mary Schwartz; and Naomi (Pete) Neuenschwander, both of Monroe; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Eicher; and Edith Eicher; two brothers-in-law, Sam Brandenberger; and Jonas M. Schwartz; 107 grandchildren; and 191 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph Eicher; and Jake Eicher; three sisters, Josephine Schwartz; Ann Schwartz; and Frances Brandenberger; two brothers-in-law, Reuben N. Schwartz; and Noah M. Schwartz; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18 and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 at the residence 1811E 500S, Berne. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 20 at the residence. Officiating will be Noah Wickey. Burial will be at Schwartz Cemetery.
