Gary Zuercher | The Berne Witness

Gary Zuercher

Gary Zuercher, 70, of Geneva passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at his home. He was born on January 17, 1946 in Adams County to David and Leona (Lehman) Zuercher. He was married on October 19, 2002 to Roxie Green.

He graduated from Geneva High School and worked for Micro Precision in Berne for 39 years. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, fishing, and skeet shooting. He was a member of Geneva VFW Post #6751, Berne American Legion Post #468, NRA, and Ducks Unlimited. 

He is survived by his wife of Geneva; son, Todd (Tina) Zuercher of Berne; daughter, Jennifer Zuercher of Berne; step-son, Robert Lennartz of Portland; two step-daughters, Jodi (Brian) Hayes; and Anette (Tom) Coby, both of Portland; three brothers, Howard (Dixie) Zuercher; Sam Zuercher; and Paul Zuercher, all of Berne; two sisters, Rowena Whisler of Berne; and Marilyn Graham of Roxanna, Illinois; four grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arthur Zuercher; James Zuercher; and Clifton Zuercher; and two sisters, Martha Schug; and Pauline Solano. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3 and one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Friday, November 4 at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Officiating will be Pastor Hugh Kelly. Burial will be at Green Park Cemetery in Portland.

Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church or Family LifeCare of Berne.
