Jeanette M. Baumgartner

Jeanette M. Baumgartner, 97, of Berne passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Swiss Village in Berne, where she was a resident. She was born on March 7, 1919 in Adams County to Levi and Ella (Gerber) Meshberger. She was married to Lawrence Baumgartner.

She graduated from Hartford Center High School. She was a faithful member of the First Mennonite Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and served on the kitchen committee. She was employed at Berne Furniture in the sewing department and later at CTS Corp with 15 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, caring for her flowers, and assisting in Kinder Haus.

She is survived by her son, Jerry (Marsha) Baumgartner of Lebanon; granddaughter, Kristin (Jeremy) Sheets of Plymouth; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four brothers, Denver, Raymond, Edward, and Clarence Meshberger.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the 3:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, January 7 in the Swiss Village Auditorium in Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry A. Flueckiger. Burial will be at MRE Cemetery in Berne.

Memorials may be made to the First Mennonite Church Missions or Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
