Loretta K. Smith

Loretta K. Smith, 63, of Bluffton passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on August 11, 1953 in Bluffton to Millard and Alice (Fiechter) Aschliman. She was married on August 19, 1973 in Bluffton to David J. Smith.

She was a 1971 graduate of Adams Central High School. She was a member of Life Community Church in Bluffton. She retired from the US Postal Service with 33 years of service. She spent 18 years at postmaster at Craigville.

She is survived by her husband of Bluffton; three sons, Austin (Rachel) Smith of Decatur; Jason (JulieAnn) Smith of Boswell, Pennsylvania; and Joshua (Tricia) Smith of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Lisa (Jonathan) Ringger of southeast Asia; and Lana (Tim) Shoaf of Bluffton; brother, Derryl (Peggy) Aschliman of Decatur; three sisters, Diane (Von) Heyerly of Bluffton; Laura (Mike) Grime of Fort Wayne; and LouAnn (Keith) Kaehr of Decatur; and 18 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation was from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27 and will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28 at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Funeral Home in Bluffton and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, November 29 at Life Community Church in Bluffton. Officiating will be Kent Ringger and John Reinhard. Burial will be at Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
