Lucinda M. Steffen

Lucinda M. Steffen, 87, of Bluffton passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at Christian Care Retirement in Bluffton. She was born on July 9, 1929 in Adams County to Sam H. and Emma (Fiechter) Baumgartner. She was married on March 29, 1953 in Wells County to Ralph J. Steffen.

She was a homemaker and a graduate of Kirkland High School. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She helped with the operation of the family farm, along with her husband. She enjoyed gardening and baking.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Karen (Jeff) Bailey of St. Petersburg, Florida; and Marlene (Dean) Vanhorn of Decatur; two sons, Gary Steffen; and Ron (Natalie) Steffen, both of Fort Wayne; sister, Lorine Baumgartner of Bluffton; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Beulah Baumgartner; and Clara Gerber; and two brothers, Glen and Raymond Baumgartner.

Visitation was from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22 at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Monday, Januray 23 at the Apostolic Christian Church East. Officiating will be Lynn Fiechter and Ron Kipfer. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Christian Care Retirement Community.
