Marilyn J. Litwiller | The Berne Witness

Marilyn J. Litwiller

Marilyn J. Litwiller, 83, of Berne passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Swiss Village in Berne. She was born on October 10, 1933 in Gridley, Illinois to Rudolph and Katherine (Egle) Hauser. She was married on June 18, 1955 to Robert Litwiller.

She worked at the Salem Children's Home in Illinois, Berne Evangelical Church in rural Berne, and retired from Swiss Village in Berne. She was a member of the Berne Evangelical Church, where she served in a multitude of roles, including Sunday school teacher, youth leader, the flower committee, and the mission committee. She also enjoyed singing in the choir.

She is survived by two sons, Phil (Sonnie) Litwiller; and Scott (Sheri) Litwiller, both of Berne; two daughters, Becky (Kent) Lehman of Berne; and Cindy (Ramon) Garcia of Spain; daughter-in-law, Ann Litwiller of Archbold, Ohio; sister, Helen Roth of Gridley, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; son, Gary Litwiller; and two brothers, Stanley and Norman Hauser.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, May 6 at Berne Evangelical Church in rural Berne. Officiating will be Pastor Kent Fahl. Burial will be at Berne Evangelical Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Fellowship of Evangelical Churches Basque Ministry, Family LifeCare, or Swiss Village Samaritan Fund.
