Maryan A. Stevens

Maryan A. Stevens, 98, of Decatur passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur. She was born on September 8, 1918 in Adams County to Everett and Almeda (Stevens) Ferry. She was married on June 29, 1947 to Joseph J. Stevens.

She worked as a lifelong homemaker and farmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Phillis A. (Jim) Eiting of Decatur; two grandchildren, Rodney Bieberich of Cleveland, Ohio; and Sandy (Rodney) Simpson of Decatur; two step-grandchildren, Jimmy Eiting of Fort Wayne; and Debbie (Jeff) Bickel of Auburn; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on January 12, 1994; daughter, Darlene Becher; and brother, Virgil Ferry.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Dan York. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital or the Adams County Animal Shelter.
