Max M. Myers
Max M. Myers, 72, of Berne passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Veterans Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on July 5, 1945 in Adams County to Andrew “Andy” and Glendola (Bebout) Myers. He was married on October 28, 1981 to Joyce Suman.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Japan and Korea. He was the owner of Geneva Electric since 1972. He was a member of the Berne American Legion Post #468 and served as trustee and on the Color Guard and was a member of the Geneva VFW and the Berne Lions Club. He served with the Berne Fire Department for over 30 years where he served as assistant fire chief. His pride and joy was his 1945 John Deere Tractor, and he cherished his 1966 Corvette Stingray. He especially loved his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of Berne, three daughters, Ronda Bechinski of Decatur; Rita Bollenbacher of Muncie; and Racquel “Kelly” (Greg) Werich of Bluffton; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Bechinski.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20 at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne. Family and friends are invited to the graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21 at MRE Cemetery in Berne.
Military rites will be provided by the Berne American Legion Post 468.
