Noah M. Schwartz

Noah M. Schwartz, 86, of Monroe passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home. He was born on April 14, 1930 in Adams County to Jacob J. and Mary (Schwartz) Schwartz. He was married on October 10, 1957 to Josephine Eicher.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish. He was a carpenter.

He is survived by five sons, Noah J.E. Schwartz of Decatur; Joseph J.E. (Ruthann) Schwartz; and Jacob J.E. (Caroline) Schwartz, both of Berne; Neal (Mary) Schwartz of Carlisle, Kentucky; and Jerome J.E. (Mary) Schwartz of Monroe; three daughters, Susanna Schwartz; and Laura (David) Wickey, both of Monroe; and Betty (Levi) Miller of Decatur; brother, Henry M. (Elizabeth) Schwartz of Berne; sister, Barbara Hochstetler of Glasgow, Kentucky; 74 grandchildren; and 70 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers; five sisters; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18 and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19 at his residence, 2406 S. Salem Road, Monroe. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20 at his residence. Officiating will be Jacob T. Schwartz. Burial will be at Bluecreek Cemetery in rural Berne.
