Reba J. Eckrote

Reba J. Eckrote, 96, of Bluffton passed away at 2:53 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at River Terrace Estates in Bluffton. She was born on Tuesday, April 20, 1920 in Adams County to Preston and Metta (Sprunger) Pyle. She was married on Saturday, October 28, 1939 in Wells County to Raymond D. Eckrote.

She spent most of her life in Geneva. She was a former resident of Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne. She had lived in Bluffton for two years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Domestic. She had worked for CTS and retired from the South Adams Schools, where she was the cafeteria manager.

She is survived by her son, Dallas (Betty) Eckrote of Whiteland; daughter, Nila (Larry) Fenstermaker of Bluffton; foster brother, Burton Vanette of St. Mary's, Ohio; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Charles and James Pyle.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21 at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St., Berne. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 at Swiss Village. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Dauterman. Burial will be at Alberson Cemetery in Geneva.
