Roger D. Morningstar
Roger D. Morningstar, 66, of Geneva passed away at 1:42 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Jay County Hospital in Portland. He was born on Sunday, October 29, 1950 in Adams County to Dale V. and Edith Irene “Babe” (Bergman) Morningstar. He was married on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in Geneva to Kay Wilkinson.
He was a graduate of South Adams High School. He had worked for Farm Co-Op and had retired from Geneva Manufacturing. He was a member of the Berne American Legion. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his mother of Geneva; his wife of Geneva; four sons, Shawn K. Morningstar; and Michael (Ashleigh) Collins, both of Portland; Greg Morningstar of Berne; and Frank (Candy) Brindle of Gaston; three daughters, Brandi (Adam) Norris of Decatur; Christie (Cris) Drollinger of Muncie; and Brandi (Joe Whetstone) Collins of Portland; brother, James Wheeler of Terre Haute; three sisters, Judy (JR) King of Petroleum; Bonnie Cart of Monroe; and Sharon (Chris) Chaffins of Berne; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and best friend, Hooch.
He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Skeet Morningstar.
Visitation will be four hours prior to the 7:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, August 9 at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 100 W. Line St., Geneva. Officiating will be Pastor Alan Crull.
