Fruechte holds off Borne in GOP commissioner race
Adams County Commissioner Kim Fruechte held off challenger Bill Borne in the Republican county commissioner race for District One in the primary race on Tuesday. Fruechte, who will be making a bid for his third term as commissioner in November, tallied 3,843 votes while Borne accumulated 2,429 votes. In another contested county race, veteran Randy Colclasure lost his seat as a Republican council member at-large while Steve Bailey, Dennis Bluhm and Tony Mellencamp qualified to keep their names on the ballot.
