MERC office set to close after five years

After nearly five years in existence, the Migrant Education Resource Center (MERC6) office was informed on Thursday, January 10 that the Department of Education will not be funded after August 31, 2018. South Adams superintendent Scott Litwiller informed the school board during its regular meeting on Tuesday that this decision was made in anticipation of a large cut in federal funding to the Migrant Department.
